Hi all,
When Carl Arendt first posted the "under develoment" pictures of my Randim Stackum & Wrackem Gn15 warehouse layout on his Small Layouts site, he proposed a "forklift in a shoebox" version here:
http://www.carendt.us/scrapbook/page80/index.html#2Recently I found an old box that originally housed a set of now well-worn safety boots.

At 340mm by 220mm by 130mm, it is close to what Carl Arendt proposed. Just to see if it would work, using the pallet mover and 3-speed radio-controlled forklift from the RS&W, a length of old track, the smaller pallets and cones that came with the 3-speed forklift, and some styrene sheet and foamcore offcuts, a speed build of the as yet un-named micro-layout took shape in 4 hours.

AND YES IT ACTUALLY WORKS....
Operation really does call for some "out-of box" forkie driving that probably would not be condoned in the "real" world, but hey you do what you have to do to do the job in the VERY limited space available ;-)
More photos and a longer story are available at
