Hmmm, it looks amazingly "steampencil" to me, but I don't mind being associated with the spirit of the thing.  - B2

I had a look, but most of the site appears to be down...

Project for today, getting a turntable for the propective new layout operational.
(If it will work reliably, it will change my design thinking.  I'd like to have one for displaying locos and to add movement but little is worse on an exhibition layout than a poorly working turntable.)
Oh, and just for fun the table itself has a curved track.
And will be worked either with a little beam engine or a animated man with a hand crank.  I may make both and see which looks better.

Well, speaking of turntables, Carl's Micro Layout site did a spot on a 7 1/2" gauge railway that had a turntable with a switch on it. ??? Don't think that hasn't given me much food for thought.:o They also has sliding tracks inside the engine shed that could be moved back & forth to accommodate 3 locos in a space that that you'd think only 1 was possible. ::) That too has given much food for thought. This little railway is in England, at Bekonscot, Buckinghamshire. That railway is on page 67, November 2007, N.E.C. (Not Elsewhere Classified) of Carl's site.

Carls' site is always worth a visit. G is shown quite a few times on small layouts. His site is also very inspirational. This month's issue has a short article of someone who builds Christmas layouts from Dollar Store trains. Fascinating. :D

As I recall it, the switch is spring-loaded and used for running round, normally: the turntable is used for engines that need it and for access to extra storage sidings at the beginning and end of the day.  The single track loco shed does have a three track traverser inside it, too.  (see very end of video.)
The entire convoluted figure of 8 line, and the station use a lot of spring loaded points to get a long run in a small space, apart from manually-set sidings to storage sheds and a workshop area.
Lovely video below.

on the latter page you can build a little instant model village...
