Thanks John and wdwray,

Fact is, I have yet to find a suitable 'cat'. It has to be thin... bobble heads have fat heads, furry toys are usually too large also. And, yes, it must be cheap.....

I've taken a copy of the 'wacky wobbler' and may attempt a home made version... my second try at a clay figure. (The first was such a disaster I've never spoken of it.. even now I've said too much )

Cheers
 :D
I cut it twice and it's still too short.

Trainboy, That's an offer I cannot refuse. You are kind.

The feline should be between 6 1/2 and 7 inches tall (inclusive of that hat), and not taller, otherwise he won't be able to see out the window.

Also, the figure needs to have a 'footprint' of no more than about 1 and a quarter inches square, otherwise it won't fit in the cab. Ideally the figure should be much skinnier than 1 and a quarter inches, so it should be v e r y skinny.

I will of course cover the shipping cost...... but we can work that out later.

Cheers and I'm sure we all look forward to progress pictures.

Why not draw it out on card and make it a flat figure, like mine on the clockwork loco

CJ, what a great idea..........I'll try that and see how it turns out. At least it will be thin..........
 :D

Later.....
.....I've spent hours doing this.......... Thanks to CJ for the suggestion, and to OzTrains for the pic of the Cat... which is of the bobble head, and thus somewhat of a caricature of the cartoon character.. is that possible?

Here's a word document carrying the picture of the ad for the bobble head...

I have a few hundred paper flats that are used for wargaming. Paper locomotives, buildings scenery etc are all fine for my to use and to be admired, not to be looked down on  :D

I still have a paper flat High Elf army stashed away somewhere.  From memory it was around 2000 points and it included war elephants.  It looked really good on a wargaming table and it received a lot of positive comments too.

I'm encouraged now to include flat figures in my constructions.... cheaper and easier than the 'real' figure when one is not available.
