Christmas Iceburgh
« on: January 03, 2010, 03:09:00 PM »
OK, so I'm a little late in finishing my annual Christmas layout, but here it is.  This is the town of Iceburgh, a lively, yet frozen community.

I started out with a plastic serving platter and a cheapie train set.  The scenery is styrofoam carved with a hot wire tool.  The figures are a mix of Christmas figurines and some homemade figures made from Sculpey clay.  (If you're wondering which is which, look for the fine crafted, highly detailed ones.  I didn't do those!)

Anyway, on to the pictures!

The polar bear volunteered to hang up the Christmas lights.  He tends to get wrapped up in his work!  :D  The cubs are putting up the sign, while the walrus looks on.

Mom bought more presents than she could carry so she had Nick push the rest of them out on a cart.  She's wondering where Susie got off to with the barrel of apples.

Lots of fun  ;D

The styrofoam makes really good looking snow and ice.

Thanks, Annie!  :D   It was a lot of fun to build.  Makes a great centerpiece, too.

Very nice!

I did finally find this type of train used for your project at a local Resturant, "Cracker Barrel" for around $6. I still may pick one up considering my Monorail project has jumped track!!!

G-man, that sounds like a pretty good deal.  I picked up a few of them at the regular price - didn't make it to the after-Christmas sale. :-[

Tommy, I saw the Cracker Barrel one you were talking about.  You get more cars than the Wal-Mart one and some straight track.
